Data and Information Visualization
Introduction
Data and information visualization (data viz or info viz) is the practice of designing and creating easy-to-communicate and easy-to-understand graphic or visual representations of a large amount of complex quantitative and qualitative data and information. This helps individuals to better understand, interpret and gain important insights into otherwise difficult-to-identify structures, relationships, correlations, patterns, trends, variations, and other groupings within data (exploratory visualization). When intended for the general public (mass communication) to convey a concise version of known, specific information in a clear and engaging manner (presentational or explanatory visualization), it is typically called information graphics.
